W Magazine (February 2006)
Ah, to be a sun soaker. Totally wishin’ I was college prepping for spring break right now.

Vogue Russia (2011)
I feel as everyone is either talking about what they’re going to wear to Coachella or what they’re wearing to Mexico. Ugh, to be 21 again. Le sigh.

Kasia Struss & Hugh Lippe for Naag Magazine
Seeing tweets and status updates of “OMG, I’m so wearin’ this to, blah, blah…” I can’t help but think, “Seriously, you’re going wear those 5 inch platforms all day every day with drink in hand?”

Harpers Bazaar Arabia (June 2010)
I wish I could live in wedges and platforms forever, but my calves tell me otherwise.

Vogue Spain (June 2011)
Beachy and poolside, while editorials have babes in stilettos and pumps, I’d rather not break a leg while I’m sippin on a marg, so sandals or flipflops are kinda key to tote along (unless you have miracle legs like Victoria Beckham and can permanently wear heels).

Numero Magazine Issue 121 (March 2011)
Well, if you’re one of the lucky devils to get some water time in the next few weeks you can still look all cutesy and be kind to your feet. There are loads of cool flats out there. Ok?

L'Officiel Brazil (November 2008) feat. Havaianas
I kinda save the schmancy sandals for when there’s not tons of sand, so more cashe flipflops are in order. I don’t collect many flipflops (I think) but there are tons of awesome sandals from Havaianas if you’re lookin.

Bianca Balti by Paola Kudacki (June 2008)
Like seriously every color or cool pattern you could need, and they last a super long time (I have two pairs – one white, and one gold that have lasted for years).

Vogue Russia (2011)
Anyway, the ballsy maxi dress lady in the Rio shoot above is wearing green ones, and pulls off her look with tons of extra color. So…there’s proof that there really isn’t a need to have throbbing tootsies when in your swim gear and you can party hardy with your cover up, cutoffs, and wind-blown hair.
Well for now, I will just take some inspiration from some unpractically-posed editorials and hope I get my bum to the beach soon!

I can’t believe I’ve lived in LA for almost a year! It’s literally cray-cray how fast time goes when you’re having fun, or just sooo busy that you can’t keep your days straight… one of the two. I still can’t say that I know LA all-to-well, considering that the last 12 months I spent half of my weekends wedding planning, then the remaining 6 months going to people’s weddings – but what I do know is that this city is an amazing blend of cultures, fashion, and Hollywood. Hence, the ode-to-Hollywood themed editorials. Here’s to more sunny days ahead!

I am a victim of shying away from color, so once again I’m resolving to wear more P.O.C.s (pops of color) in any way I can. Julep.com sent over an awesome kit with these two hues in it, and it happens to match some art in my house. The pink and blue are totally not something that I’d pick up on the Rite Aid down the road, but they are encouraging me to make my nails the into a new accessory.
So, pink and blue you will be part of my wardrobe (sneakily on my fingertips) and not full-on outfits like in the editorials above, but let’s make those goals to move towards. One step at a time, one step at a time….
Well, gonna give these new colors a lil pat on the back for making me add some life into my black & neutral wardrobe! Pat. Pat.

It’s no secret that I love to wear black, but the ultimate is not an LBD for me, its a maxi skirt. No, I’m not hiding anything under there or trying to look like a school teacher – with the right material and styling a maxi can elongate my shorty silhouette and not make me look stumpy dumpy.
Totally in love with black maxis – dress or skirt, pleated or asymmetical, sheer or solid. My fave which I’m suuuuuper excited about is my new American Apparel chiffon maxi skirt (also a more sheer version here) – It’s so comfy, flowy, and a wardrobe staple.
Go work your magic.

One of the best things about blogs these days is finding up-n-comers and how every blogger has a new fresh view of things. I think that’s what’s so great about the whole fashion blog “evolution”. It’s super rare to have two blogs be direct copies of each other. A lot of fashion mags have the same layout, but there are sooooo many different blog layouts, designs, content, features, etc. Everybody does it differently, and it’s freakin’ fantastic. So, here’s five of my current faves.
First up…Chloe’s Addiction. Can we say “ahhhhhhhhhhhhh-mazing”? This gal has the best collection of Jeffrey Campbell shoes known to man. Her style can go from super sweet and romantic to hipster (dare I say..) chic (I said it).

Photo via The Minimal Liste
The Minimal Liste. Cool new sister-duo Lizz and Meg have a crazy assortment of accessories (right up my alley) and take turn doing style outfits. It’s a good mix of their own photos, collages, and editorials – all keepin it real.

Photo via Jean Greige
One of the most b.a. bloggers around is Madeline of Jean Greige. She’s got the most epic ring stashes in L.A., AND she always makes some of the wildest pieces look uber-easy to pull off. (Lovin her in that shearling coat, btw)

Photo Via Jess Loves Fred
Half-way around the globe is Jess Loves Fred. First thing’s first: How awesome is her hair? I mean, soooo cool. I wish I could pull the half-shave thing off. Second, she’s great at mixing brights and prints (which I am currently lacking skill on) and finding cool bold baubles. Check it.

Photo via The Maven Post
Great photos. Great style. Cool locations – The Maven Post keeps ya guessing at what she’s gonna do next. I adore the photo above in the fur vest and and that blocked skirt. She’s got it going on.
Keepin’ these babes on my roster to visit, as they are each totally inspiring in their own way!!!!
