I was so sad last year when it was announced that New York Fashion Week was moving to Lincoln Center. But, today some new details about the LC set-up has got me kind of excited.
1) There still will be a tent! Apparently the lobby will be tented where there will still be areas for sponsorships (such as Starbucks or McCafe, M.A.C. or Maybelline) and seating areas for guests.
2) More venues. Instead of the traditional three showrooms that Bryant Park had, Lincoln Center will have 4 different venues plus an atrium that can be used for presentations. The atrium will be awesome because then more designers can have runway shows in the main rooms and possibly attract more designers to show at the Fashion Week venues! So…that equates to less people running late to shows, and more shows running on time! Keep your fingers crossed!
3) Red Red Red. Fashion Week’s getting a red carpet. Not going to lie, I like walking down red carpets. But thats besides the point. With a red carpet come celebrities. More celebrities equals more press and more press will bring more designers! Great circle of life.
So, while I didnt want to say good-bye to Bryant Park, I do understand why CFDA and IMG wanted to move to a bigger venue. It wont feel the same, but hopefully the LC will make its own special place in my fashion-loving heart.

I walked by Bryant Park the other day & was sad that there'll be no more #NYFW.But Lincoln Center might not be so bad http://budurl.com/57uq
Update: Lincoln Center did NOT have a red carpet. Very sad about that. Although there were dozens of more presentations and shows this year, it still didnt have the charm of Bryant Park. Oh, Bryant Park, you will forever be missed.
